KARL MEYER
Company Founder, President
Karl has been in the industry for 25+ years. Starting in the arboriculture field, he spent time as a groundsman, then climber, at the age of 18. Following that, he started KJM Landscape Design. in 1996, right around the time James was born. Since then, he has been owner and operator of the business until Nov. of 2020 when James joined the business. Together James and Karl rebranded KJM Landscaping, as KJM Landscapes LLC.
Karl’s passion for creating, unique, natural, landscapes has developed into the staple KJM design that so many have come to love and appreciate. Currently, Karl oversees our masonry and larger construction projects.
In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife Kristen and kids, James, Jessica, Emma, and Lily. He also loves a good laugh with friends and spending time in the outdoors, hunting or fishing, and of course, kicking back on the beach.
JAMES MEYER
General Manager, Landscape Designer
James has been exposed to the industry his entire life, but has been an active member since 2014. James graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelors in Science in Landscape Contracting, with a focus on Design/Build. While there, he gained valuable exposure and knowledge of the industry and landscape design and construction techniques. Since then, James worked for a few other landscape contracting companies, before rejoining KJM Landscapes.
James’ love for the outdoors, art, engineering, and working with people, make him a valuable asset to the business, where he manages the business and produces the companies landscape designs.
When not in the office or working with a team, James can either be found in the mountains on a hike, or surfing a wave on the beach. Where James is, his beloved, Australian Shepherd companion (and company mascot) Kai, is sure to be nearby.
